Accessibility Guide 2024

Waypoints Cafe and Dwellingup Adventures are located in the Dwellingup Trails and Visitors Centre. It is a large building with parking on 3 sides. The surrounding paths, deck and entrance are level with no steps and wide enough for wheelchair access.  Waypoints Cafe and Dwellingup Adventures are located at the eastern end of the building overlooking a grass area, playground and skate and pump tracks. The area is generally quieter during the week, except school holidays and public holidays. There is lots of area to run about, stretch legs and be noisy! There is one local road to the south, that is generally not busy. As the centre is located very close to the Hotham Valley Train this can present some noise, especially during the cooler months of the year when steam is being used to power the engines. It is a magnificent sight to behold but can be very loud! The natural bush that surrounds the town and where most of our activities take place is a relaxed, peaceful environment with little car noise. There are sections of river with rapids that can be noisy and fast. However, there are also more quieter sections to be enjoyed all year. Expect to encounter some wildlife in the bush, including kangaroos, wallaby’s, emus, native marsupials, reptiles and birds.

We offer a large range of products from bikes and scooters to rafts, canoes, accommodation and charters. Particular equipment is better suited to persons with accessibility needs. For example, rafts are lighter, more stable and easier to get in and out of as compared to a canoe. Some areas of the river are easier to access than others. Depending on your needs we can provide advice and assistance to help you get the best out of your adventure!

If you have any questions please reach out – we are more than happy to help.
