Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to frequently asked questions about working with us.

  • Can I ride from your shop or do I have to drive to the trails?

Mountain bike and hiking trails start from our front door! We are situated in the Dwellingup Trails and Visitors Centre, where the Munda Biddi Trail and Bibbulmum Track intersect. The Dwellingup Town Trails which include Marrinup, is a large network of cross-country mountain bike trails suitable for all levels. Murray Valley Trails can be accessed via the Munda Biddi (8km – not far but steep on return), or you can drive and park at Dwaarlindjirraap, only 15 minutes away. The Murray Valley Trails are more advanced due to the elevation. You will find some beginner (green), intermediate (blue), and expert (black) trails here. Toms Crossing Downhill Trails are accessible from within Lane Poole Reserve. Toms Crossing is for advanced riders only. We do not allow our bikes to be ridden at Toms Crossing.

  • Do we need to book in advance?

Advanced bookings are not mandatory for hires but we do recommend it to ensure equipment will be held for you and you will not be subject to availability on the day. Bookings are required for tours, charters and accommodation. If you are having trouble booking online please give us a call – we are pretty flexible and will try to accommodate where possible.

  • What happens if I return equipment early or late?

Generally, we do not offer refunds if you decide to return equipment prior to your booked time. We do allow a 30 minute late window for watercraft and 15 minutes for bikes. Anytime later than that we reserve the right to charge you late fees.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

      • Cancellations can be made up to 48 hours prior to the hire/tour time commencing, at no cost.
      • Cancellations made within 48 hours of hire/tour time are non-refundable (if due to COVID-19 see full terms and conditions).
      • Date and name changes can be made at no cost, at least 24 hours prior to booked collection/tour time.
      • Hires and Tours will have deemed to be completed if customers do not show up within 1 hour of booked collection/tour time.
      • The Operator reserves the right to cancel tours and hires due to unsuitable river conditions, bushfire risk and other circumstances that the Operator feels pose unsafe conditions to the Hirer. If the Operator is prevented from, or delayed in performing any of its obligations to the Customer from having to cancel a tour or hire, no loss or damage shall be claimed by the Customer from the Operator.
  • What happens if I lose or damage equipment?

If you lose equipment there will be a replacement cost. Generally, if damage occurs under your care you will be charged for the damage.

  • Do you supply bike helmets?

Yes, helmets are supplied with each bike.

  • Are Lane Poole Reserve entry fees included in the cost?

No, Lane Poole Reserve day entry fees are not included in any of our tour or equipment hire costs. If you enter the Reserve, you will need to pay these fees at entry or show a valid parks pass. For current fee information, please visit Park Passes – WA Naturally.

  • Are the trails always open?

The Dwellingup Adventure Trails are managed by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions. To check trail status go to Parks and Wildlife Service – Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions – Park Alerts System. Trails may close for maintenance, bushfire management and safety. We will advise you when hiring equipment if it is likely to impact you.

  • Is mobile reception available on the trails?

Mobile reception can be unreliable in the Dwellingup bush, with pockets of service depending on your phone and provider. For safety, it’s wise not to rely solely on your mobile. Your guide on tours will carry satellite communication, and emergency landlines are available at key locations in the Lane Poole Reserve (marked on maps).

  • Can I transport the bikes on my vehicle?

Yes, but they must be transported on a fit for purpose bike rack. They are not to be transported lying down in vehicles. We have bike racks for hire, including for shuttling at Murray Valley Trails.

  • Are day hires for 24 hours?

No, day hires are from 8am to 4pm (open to close), or from 4pm Day 1 to 4pm the next day.
