Tips for Spring Adventures in Dwellingup

Spring in Dwellingup is hard to beat.

The forest is alive with colour, the Murray River is calm and inviting and the weather sits right in that sweet spot between warm and cool.

Here’s a few tips to help make the most of the season:

1. Take advantage of grippy Spring trails

  • Murray Valley Network: It’s clay base make for smooth, flowy rides and great traction. Ride lines are prominent from recent races, so great for new riders to learn!

  • Marrinup: Quiet, scenic and slightly sticky — perfect for a peaceful pedal but starting to dry out. It’s gravel base makes for a rockier trail in the summer. Get in quick before it dries out and gets slippery with pea gravel!

    • Pro tip: Edges are soft so stick to the centre of the trail

Calm conditions make spring ideal for beginner and experienced paddlers alike (Just remember a light layer as it can still get breezy on the river!).

3. Dress for Spring Adventures

4. Get Local Advice Before You Go

Pro tip: The Spring season is perfect for spotting flora and fauna! Keep your eyes peeled for native orchids, kangaroo paws and the endangered red-tailed black cockatoos.

4. Let Someone Else Do the Planning
